Everyone struggles with breakouts from time to time, but here are some tips I hope will eliminate those breakouts and keep your skin looking fresh. - Wash your face twice a day. Do not use bar soap to clean your face. Identify your skin type (i.e. oily, dry, mix, etc.) When looking for a cleanser, you know how much oil you will need in your face wash. If you have oily skin, you will use a cleanser with less oil, than a person with dry skin.
- Exfoliation weekly can drastically improve the condition of your skin. Look for a microderm-abrasion scrub with tiny grains, if it has big grains, it can do more damage than good.
- Moisturization is a necessity! Even if your skin is oily, you will still need a little bit of moisture. Be careful not to over-moisturize because this can result in clogged pores. The best moisturizers will have an SPF of at least 15. This will protect your skin against the sun throughout the day.
- Drinking plenty of water can change both the way you feel and the way your skin looks. If you are inactive, you will need to drink half your body weight in ounces (i.e. if you weigh 110 lbs, you will need to drink 55 oz. of water a day.) However, if you are active you will need to drink more.
- Eliminating dairy from your diet can also improve your skin. Dairy is bad for your skin, and once eliminated can improve your complexion. An easy way to tell if there is dairy in something is that it is required at the bottom of every ingredient list. So, at the bottom of an ingredient list of food, if it does not say "contains: milk" it is dairy free.
I personally am off dairy because my dermatologist recommended it to me. I do struggle with breakouts, and after reading these articles, am going to try these methods. Any Questions? Contact: modern.modest@gmail.com-Hannah

Round Tummy If your tummy is a bit round, your jean type should be a mid-rise with 4-5% elastic which will help give the appearance of a flatter stomach.Tall with Slim Legs Skinny jeans flatter this body type. Your jeans should be a darker wash, and hit just at the ankle. To top off the look, wear with cute ballet flats!Fuller Bottom Make sure the back pockets on your jeans are close together, if far apart, it can give the appearance of a wider bottom. No flap pockets, or horizontal designs!Curvy Thighs Your jean wash should be a solid color, no bleach spots. Avoid jeans with tapered legs! Wearing a bold top can draw attention to your face instead of your thighs.Short-Waisted Low riding jeans can elongate your waist, and layering with long colorful tees can make your torso appear longer. Stick to trouser style jeans with slash pockets.Flat Hips and Bottom Jeans with pockets are for you! Jeans without pockets will only appear to flatten you more.Short Legs Straight Leg or relaxed fit jeans will flatter your figure. To make your legs appear longer, you should wear high heeled boots or shoes.Hey! It's Hannah. Now it's time for me to tell you my body type and how I find Jeans. I technically fit two categories. I have long slender legs, but at the same time, no hips or backside. I prefer skinny jeans with thick back pockets to make my backside appear fuller. When I'm not in the skinny jean mood, I wear boot cut form-fitting jeans that still have the thick back pockets. I hope this helps you if you fit more than one 'jean type'. Howdy-do!!! Lillie here. I had alot, and I mean alot, of trouble trying to figure out my jean type. Turns out, I am tall with slim legs. Personally, I like skinny jeans, even though I can't find any long enough for me that fit every other way! Trouser jeans are my favorite type, though I do like wide leg pants. Hopefully this shows you that you're not limited to only one jean type.Questions, Comments? modern.modest@gmail.comWe would like to give alot of credit to Brio Magazine for inspiring us and giving us topic ideas for "Finding the Jeans That Fit Your Body Type".
Every girl struggles with the desire to appear attractive and modern in her attire, but at the same time, not cross the line of “showing too much”. Our hope is that through this website you can find “your space” in between these two lines. Throughout this website we will be giving advice on hair, makeup, skin-care, and fashion. We also want to emphasize through this website your inward beauty. Even though looking pretty on the outside is very important, one day, you will get old, and you won’t look the same way that you did at 17; however, when you build your beauty on the outside and inside, your beauty will never fail, no matter how old you get; and one day, when you are old, and gorgeous on the inside, people will still consider you as a beautiful person.
Ezekiel 3:3-4 says: Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. 4Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
Now, we don’t necessarily find our beauty in braided hair nowadays, but what the author is trying to emphasize is this: Your beauty should not be judged by your outward appearance; such as expensive name brand clothes, the latest designer bag, the newest iPod®, the most expensive cell phone, or the hottest boyfriend. Instead, your beauty should be judged by your patience, kindness, and unselfishness towards other, which God thinks makes you beautiful.
Lastly, our inspiration for this website is that we find a desperate need for a positive, uplifting, yet modern websites for girls to turn for their fashion wants. Contact us with any questions on hair, makeup, skin-care, fashion or anything else at modern.modest@gmail.com
